So I had an assignment due for today, on whether or not humans had free will. Now, for reasons that I won’t bother explaining I will not be posting that essay here. A shame, I think it was quite good, if I do say so myself. However, it did get me thinking from the Philosophy side of things (being that the essay was for Philosophy class) and I’ve decided to write some other pieces with my general viewpoint on human nature and what not over the next few weeks.
I’d rather post them when I have a large readership, as then I can get more comments and feedback, but I don’t want to run the risk of forgetting what it is I was going to write. So I shall do them now instead.
So with that in mind, I should have some decent posts over the next few weeks. And to those who commented on my Hallowe’en post, thank you very much and here’s some linky love to both of you, Diff.thinkr and bingkee. And to everyone reading this, I do read comments, and when I eventually get the time I’ll comment back on yours. As you can probably tell by the rambling nature of this post and recent ones I’ve not had much time for the blogging world. So apologies for that.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
A night of scares and monsters. And children getting diabetes. All in good fun of course.
I’ve always loved Hallowe’en. I think the main reason for it was that the earliest memories I have are of when I was living in the Middle East, and we lived near a compound full of Americans. They took Hallowe’en super seriously, and set up amazing rides through their gardens, played tricks on the groups going around the compound. Plus, they gave the best sweets. I remember one time when the house was made up to look like a murder scene, but the kids were too young to recognise that. The adults were actually the ones who got freaked out when a really, really big guy jumped out dressed as Jason from Friday the Thirteenth. All the kids just stood there going “Uh…what?”
As time goes on, and I moved around, Hallowe’en came to mean less and less for me. Where I live currently, the kids don’t even come knocking on our door. I’d like to think it’s because we live in an area with very few children, but I can’t help shake the feeling that over-protective parents are to blame. What do you think?
So this year I have no overly fancy plans. No Hallowe’en party to go to (no money anyway) and I’m not going into town. Just having a few friends round to watch scary movies and give ourselves nightmares. Should be fun. Any recommendations on movies we should watch, leave them in the comment section below, I’d really like to hear some suggestions as I don’t have the greatest selection in my house but I can rent some if needs be. Gonna get some popcorn, set up the big television and sit down for a night of fun and fear. Or, as usually happens when people come round, being chased around my own house while people try to tickle me.
What are each of you doing to mark this occassion? Feel free to let me know in a comment. I do read them people! I swear.
Brilliant song, again from Panic Lift. I know, it’s like he’s my favourite artist or something. He’s not, but he’s definitely top five. Here comes the song Butterfly Wings (My Only Hope) from his debut album. Click the more for Lyrics.

So another week is coming to the end, and I’d like to share a few things with you all.
First off, I’ve started publishing extracts of my novel to be reviewed. I won’t be putting the whole thing up, but a large part of it will be found here, and I’d greatly appreciate any input. You can find it here, and if you don’t have or want an account, then just leave a comment on this post.
Also I’ve been thinking about buying Dead Space, if anyone has an opinions on the matter. Good game? Scary game? Crap game? I know, I know. Where’s the good stuff, right? The interesting articles. Well, I’ve been busy as all hell playing catch up in college, so bear with me.
Enjoy the weekend all, and I’ll see you on the other side.
Yeah, I got nothing. Tired, stressed and playing a horrible game of catch up so I haven’t really had time to write a big long opinion piece or anything. All I can really think of is that Hallowe’en is coming up, but it’s too damn early to actually bothe writing anything yet.
So I shall simply say this. The Entrecard competiton is still running and I have only had two entries, so it’s still fully possile to win the top prize. So spread the word, Tweet and post your way to the top people! And have a fantasic week prior to All Soul’s Eve. I shall see you on Friday.
