What do you find creepy?

I’ve been spending the past few days working on my novel and a thought crossed my mind.

What do you find creepy or scary?

What gives you the creeps, be it real or fictional? To me, there are loads of possibilities. Some notable ones include:

• Bottlenose Dolphins
• Clowns
• Ralph Fiennes character in Schindler’s List.

To be honest, the things that truly terrify me are things that you don’t see. I found the movie Alien to be horrific, but something like the Friday the 13th remake doesn’t scare me. Also, things that…more unnerve me are things that are so horrendously brutal and yet perfectly plausible. The opening twenty minutes of Saving Private Ryan or Schindler’s List.

And then there’s this video I’m about to show you. This actually ranks quite high. Expertly done, the clip still freaks me out even three years after seeing it for the first time. Tell me, tell me those screams of pain starting about a minute in don’t creep you the fuck out.

So now I ask you, off the top of your head, what unnerves you/scares you/creeps you out?
