MM#14: genCAB – Self Images
Have I already done genCAB? I’m sure I could look back and find out, but I’m far too busy to do that. So here’s the song, Self Images. An amazing song from an amazing album. Please, as always, give feedback. And if you like it download it. I really am working on UK download links, and hopefully iTunes will accept me as well, so I can provide links to the songs there. Also, I again have failed the Youtube uploading procedure, and this song sounds simply awful in a Youtube video. So here’s a direct embedding of the sound file. Rounding off the week.
Well, I’m startin to get over whatever sickness it was I had. I don’t honestly think I had that other flu, as I was never once nearly as sick as the news and media had made out I would be. Scaremongering capitalists. Bleh.
Quite a few things have happened this week, the most obvious of which is Kanye West’s outburst. Furthermore, I have been drafting a few meaningful posts which should start being put up next week. But before all of that I would like to draw attention to a brilliant post over at Think Anew, The Paradox of Life. Well written and also voices a lot of my own opinions on the current state of the world and humanity in general. If I had more time I would finish off my draft of a response post for today, but alas I have other more important things to do. Sorry folks.
The layout of my blog has slightly changed, removing the (not working) featured article bit on the top. Over the weekend I’ll be moving the ad blocks around a bit, so you can get more exposure when you buy ads through Project Wonderful, CMF Ads or Adgitize come Monday.

America vs. Kanye West
I probably don’t need to tell you what exactly happened at the MTV Video Music Awards. Basically it just reinforced my belief that Kanye West is, in fact, an asshole. He’s pompous, arrogant and has no regard for others. The VMAs proved that beyond all doubt. If you don’t know what happened, I shall not rehash it here as it’s is literally fucking everywhere. Twitter, Blogs, the news… Check out here for a letter which pretty much takes my thoughts word for word.
Basically no matter how much he apologises, Kanye’s cred is shot. If people continue to buy his records in as large numbers as they are now I will be amazed. The funny thing is he was standing up for Beyonce….who went on to win anyway and give her chance at a speech over to Taylor Swift. So Kanye basically screwed himself over in every possible way. He was kicked out, lost his chance at a performance. I really don’t see how his situation could get any worse.
Seriously, Kanye? The fucking President of America called you a jackass (by the way, I simply love the way Obama says it). You really have screwed thigs up haven’t you?
Although, loads of people are making a big deal out of this. Screaming about how it was “off the record” and shouldn’t have been allowed out. Personally I think that’s just plain stupid. Just because Obama is the president of a country doesn’t make him inhuman. He has every right to have an opinion, and personally I think if anything was going to be leaked it should be that statement. I’d say his approval ratings just shot up some ungodly amount.
I shall never cease to be amazed at how awesome Obama is. Rock on Mr. President.

This song is just…wow. I’m not a particularly big fan of VNV Nation, but this is pretty much the only song of theirs I ever listen to. I downloaded the whole album just for this. Lyrics are in the video, so I won’t post them here. Listen and enjoy.

Converting Infinity on its way
Finally the best album EVAR has been given a release date. I have already placed my pre-order and now eagerly await its arrival in the post.
I’m sick though, so everything’s not good. I’m a little worried it might be the Swine Flu, but finger’s crossed for some good news for once eh? Of course, if it is Swine Flue, then by now I’ll have infected a few hundred college students, so I like to take pride in my work.
Sorry for the sub-par post, but I feel like death and even the prospect of a new album cannot give me strength.See you all on Monday.
