This is a continuation from the first post. Read it here.
Continuing on from last week, here are members 3 and 4 of “The Seven”. I know you probably don’t care about any of this. But I feel like I have to do this. There’s only three of us left, and the Seven was like a second family to me. I’ll make sure there’s always another post besides this. I don’t want you to get bored.
Anyway, on with the profiles.
Simone (Number 3)
Age: 18 (Deceased)
Nationality: Irish
Simone was Valens’ sister, and one of my best friends. Unlike her brother, Simone stayed in Ireland her whole life, and self-schooled herself. And did so very well, she was a hell of a lot smarter than most peple I know. An amazing gymnast and could easily have made a life for herself through being a thief, Simone chose instead to work as a volunteer in various charity shops. That’s just the kind of person she was. Without Preacher and myself doing what we could, she wouldn’t have been able to feed herself a decent amount. She and I would meet up as often as we could. My brother’s kind of an asshole, her’s was never around. So we looked after each other. She got me to quit smoking. I kept her company when she was in hospital. That sort of thing. She died last week. Still hasn’t really hit me.
I remember the time she told me to quit smoking. She’d kill me if she was around to see that I’d taken it up again. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen her angry. She was a really quiet person, and one of the few people who genuinely liked my style of music. At least, before I met her. Her only dream was to travel the world. With that in mind Preacher and I are going to have her cremated and her ashes scattered to the sea. I think that’s what’s going to be hard.
Cannan (Number4)
Age: 17 (Deceased)
Nationality: English
I never got a chance to get to know Cannan. Cannan died two years ago, shortly after I first met Valens. Cancer, of all things. What I do know about him is that he had a taste for the theatrical that rivalled mine. He was also a mechanic, building small little robots and artificial limbs. He’s the one who built Preacher’s mask.
Cannan was a little creepy, always insisting that the Seven could have, and should have, been more than just a group of friends. After all, with his mechanical skills, my computer skills and Preacher’s seemingly never ending supply of money there was a lot we could have done. According to him anyway. Noone else seemed interested.
He’s the one who got me into both Paintballing and Archery. I go Paintballing whenever I can afford it now, thanks to him. It’s probably the biggest drain on my money. He was a war fanatic, much like myself, and his favourite movie was Saving Private Ryan. Many times we stayed up all night watching that together. That young man is the one who got me smoking in the first place. He’s also the only funeral I couldn’t attend, as he died at home in England with his foster parents.
Hmm…In hindsight, that was a fairly short post. But I didn’t really know Cannan, and I already spoke at length about Simone in a previous post. More in a later post with the last two people.
