So, lately I’ve been remembering a lot of the old TV shows I used to watch growing up, some of the games I used to play and some of the toys that could be bought. Mainly this was sparked by two things: My cousin downloading the Sega Mega Collection onto his PS3, and my watching of the Nostalgia Critic and remembering all the myriad of films and tv shows he reviews. (He’s seriously funny by the way, check him out.)
I think one of the things I miss the most is my all-time favourite cartoon show, Invader Zim. Damn that show was good. Written and drawn by my favourite comic book artist, Jhonen Vasquez, Invader Zim was filled with dark humour, creepy art and sheer awesome. I wish Nickelodeon hadn’t cancelled it, but apparently they had numerous disagreements with Vasquez, which forced him to quit. Now they don’t run it anymore, which means I’m forced to watch it online wherever I can find it. It certainly wasn’t a kids show in all honesty though, so it’s not surprising they don’t have it on air anymore.
So, what do you miss from your times as a youth? Unload your nostalgic comments on me, share!
Lyrics:
There will come a time
This life you live
Will catch up with you
And no one will be left
When honesty is blind
In ignorance exist the fallen.
We’re begging for the truth
Night comes and the shadows fall
The lights appear
Across the city
I wonder where you are
The words you say are false
There is no compromise
No absolution.
On bloody knees I crawl
Why cant you hear me?
I’m screaming without words
I am just sitting here
Waiting for you.
Waiting for you
To come home
I finally resign,
I chose to cut the ties,
And stop the bleeding,
I will not be condemnd
It comes as no surprise
You are what everyone said
The masses have spoken
and for once they do not lie
Why can’t you hear me?
I’m screaming with out words
I am just sitting here
Waiting for you.
Waiting for you
To come home
Say goodbye to the ones whos subordinate to the weak
Say goodbye to your fears and you finally will be free

There are some awful parents in the world. There are the parents who beat their children black and blue, there are the parents which are addicted to drugs.
And then there’s the fucking asshole who waterboarded his own 4 year-old daughter.
For those who don’t know, waterboarding is:
a torture technique that consists of immobilizing the subject on his back with the head inclined downwards; water is then poured over the face into breathing passages, causing the captive to believe he or she is dying. In contrast to submerging the head face-forward in water, waterboarding precipitates an almost immediate gag reflex.
According to wikipedia.
How bad of a parent do you have to be to do this to your daughter because she can’t remember the alphabet? When she’s fucking four! I’m sorry about the horrific language here, but the last time I was this angered by the treatment of a child it was when I was reading about Fritzl. Of course, this is nowhere near that level of horror, but it’s still more than enough to send me over the peak. It’s when things like this happen that I start to think maybe having a test to see if you’d be allowed have a child is a good idea. Weed out the sick freaks like this guy and other equally messed up individuals.
In my opinion (as of writing this, it might well change in the future) being a parent is not a right. It’s a privilege. You have no right to have children if you can’t take care of them or even try to. I know not everyone winds up being a good parent, and it’s not always their fault. But if you’re a sadist you have no right to your child. Being a parent is a privilege, and if you abuse it then you should have that privilege taken away, possibly for good.
Opinions? What should happen to this guy? Does it make you question the idea that parenting is a right?
Wooo!
I’m back, a little later than usual because my stitches decided to fall out randomly. But I’m alright now and glad to be back in the wonderful world of the internet. How I did miss thee and thy lolcats.
Thank you to everyone who left a comment wishing me well, it helped calm my nerves when they told me I’d possibly be needing staples if my second set of stitches fell out again.
Many thanks to my webmaster, Dytalus, for alerting you guys to my predicament and for updating my story on Tome City for those of you reading it. But Dys, you really need to work on your memory. Texting me fifteen times for my login password does not give you a good image. And now the whole internet knows of your failure! Yay!
Okay, I’m back, I’m gonna try and update on time again and get some sort of rhythm going with this and Entrecard. It’s like school, once you take a break for whatever reason it’s hard as hell to get back into the swing of things.
I’ll see you all on Monday.
